Overcoming Depression: Understanding The Struggle and Finding Hope
Depression is more than just feeling sad or down. It’s a serious condition that affects how a person thinks, feels, and handles daily activities. For teens and young adults, depression can create a heavy emotional burden that’s hard to escape. It can cause persistent feelings of emptiness, hopelessness, or guilt, making it difficult to enjoy activities that once brought happiness. Depression doesn’t just affect mood; it can also lead to changes in sleep patterns, loss of energy, and difficulties in focusing or making decisions.
The challenges of depression often go beyond what’s visible on the surface. It can cause individuals to withdraw from friends and family, lose interest in school or work, and even struggle with thoughts of self-harm. Without the right support, these feelings can become overwhelming and deeply isolating. But it’s important to know that depression is treatable, and there’s hope for recovery.
You don’t have to face depression alone. With the right support, it’s possible to regain control over your life and start experiencing joy again. InsuranceApproaching Change does not accept insurance. We are an out-of-network care provider and will provide you with a super-bill (Statement for Insurance Reimbursement) so that you can submit receipts for possible reimbursement from your insurance company. I recommend that you contact your insurance company first as they can best answer your questions and concerns regarding coverage and reimbursement for mental health services.
-
Good Faith EstimateYou have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
